Terminal 5Y – a Modern Solution for Controlling Y Series Weighing Modules

The 5Y Terminal (PUE 10.M) is a modern operator interface designed to work with Y series weighing modules. It combines the function of a precise mass display with an advanced weighing settings management centre, thereby enabling convenient configuration, editing and saving of the device’s operating parameters. Intuitive use and extensive functions support the user’s daily work and allow them to make full use of the weighing system’s capabilities.

Expand Your Weighing Options

Although the Y series weighing modules can function independently, the use of an operator terminal significantly expands the possibilities of the entire system and enhances the comfort of day-to-day work. The terminal provides quick and convenient access to device configuration, measurement data and weighing process management features without the need for an external computer. Thanks to communication interfaces, i.e. 2xUSB-A, USB-C, RS 232 (COM3), HDMI, Ethernet, Wi-Fi and Hotspot, the terminal becomes the central point for integrating the device with production, laboratory or warehouse infrastructure. It allows for the easy connection of additional accessories, such as printers, barcode scanners, keyboards or external storage devices, as well as communication with PLC systems, computers and the plant network.

Featuring a 10-inch screen, the terminal provides clear access to key information. Users can display up to three screens simultaneously, including widgets, graphs, operational statuses, notes and measurement history, which significantly enhances working comfort and efficiency. The 5Y terminal supports the Digital Weighing Auditor system, which monitors the balance’s readiness for operation and helps maintain the highest measurement accuracy. The function reminds the user of the need to perform technical inspections and periodic audits of the device’s accuracy and sensitivity.

The 5Y Terminal – a Reliable Partner in Every Situation

Advanced user verification options ensure a high level of security and access control. Login can be performed using a password, RFID card, fingerprint reader, face recognition, or any combination of these methods. The innovative Ambient Light system communicates the device’s operating status via coloured backlighting, thereby informing the user of process results, alerts and currently running procedures.

Hotspot

Thanks to the Hotspot function, the terminal allows convenient operation of the balance from a smartphone, tablet or computer connected to the device. Integration with production and warehouse processes is also supported by RFID technology, used for user identification and the labelling of products and recipe ingredients.

Live Note

The Live Note function allows you to add text notes to a series of measurements or reports, making it easier to document observations, hypotheses and additional information relevant to the process. Handy Library provides quick access to measurement history and reports ready for digital signature in accordance with the requirements of 21 CFR Part 11.

Modbus TCP/IP

is one of the most popular communication protocols in industrial automation. Its implementation in the 5Y balances and CY10 scales makes the devices in this series user-friendly for automation integrators.

In a Modbus system, the balance/scale is a slave device and performs tasks specified by the master device, which is usually a PLC. The Modbus TCP/IP protocol in the 5Y balances and C10 scales enables, among other things, the functions of reading mass, zeroing and taring the balance/scale, as well as setting the tare and MIN and MAX thresholds.
